Skincare Tips for All The Seasons

I learned early on that my skin needs different care during different seasons. So I thought I’d share my general tips and tricks for skincare that you can implement throughout the seasons.

How I Find Calm

Let’s be honest, we don’t always have time to meditate for 30 minutes.

I find the best practice for me to feel a daily sense of calm and peace especially during this pandemic/quarantine is to remind myself to be present.

Facial of the Month: Manuka Honey and Turmeric Mask

Making facials is something that I have been doing for years.

This is how I started my love for skincare. I love to make facials with three ingredients or less.

There are tons of facial recipes that require many ingredients. I find that if I have to shop for ingredients I often forget to buy something. It’s convenient to be able to use products that I already have in my pantry. And sustainable!

Skincare Secrets: My Beauty Routine and Products I Love

As I spoke about in my most recent post, I’m all about feeding my skin with hydrating water and delicious fruit and vegetables, but that’s only just the beginning.

The key to having good skin is following a routine and using products that work with your skin.

My Easy Guide to Self-Care

This pandemic has been harder in ways than we could have ever imagined.

What has come from this time has also been beautiful. Before the pandemic self-care was relegated to a day. # SelfcareSunday was a trending hashtag. But being home has now reminded us that we need to schedule our small pockets of self-care, every day.

How to: Repurpose Your Closet!

Spring is in the air!

Can you smell it? *Achoo*, yes and so are allergens.

There is so much about Spring to look forward to… longer daylight hours, flowers blooming, spring wardrobe, and warmer days. The latter is touch and go.

My Morning Routine

Can we all agree that having a routine is important when it comes to skincare?

Your skin is the largest organ of your body and is often the most neglected.

What Women’s Empowerment Means to Me

My earliest memories are of the women in my family during the holidays.

We always went home (to Panama) for the holidays. The best part of the holidays was centered around food and food prep. My family was very matriarchal; my grandmother, Nennen, my mother, who was one of three girls, and me.

My Gua Sha Routine

When I was about 12 years old, I was playing on a swing in my schoolyard in Panama City, Panama. I didn’t realize it at the time, but this was the start of my skincare routine…

Sustainable Spring Cleaning Guide

I know that I am not the only one who is excited about Spring!

This pandemic winter was a little harder than other winters of the past. I often exhibit some symptoms of seasonal depression. Waking up to darkness and having shorter days tends to have an effect on my mood. However, Spring means extra daylight and it does wonders for my mental health.

THE F WORD

I think we all can agree that 2020 was one hell of a year.

There are a lot of F words that I can think of to describe 2020…

Between the global pandemic (lockdown, lack of PPE, distance learning, toilet paper gate, massive death toll, excessive handwashing, the list goes on…) to the senseless killings of Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, Rayshard Brooks, Daniel Prude, Atatiana Jefferson, Stephon Clark to name a few.
